A Bar Mitzvah is an exciting event in a Jewish boy’s life,5 Tips for Creating Bar Mitzvah Candy Displays Articles and it only makes sense to make it a memorable one. The guest list, food and drinks, entertainment – these are all important things to consider when planning a memorable Bar Mitzvah, but know that you can add even more options when you decide to create a candy display for your Bar Mitzvah.

Tip #1: Evaluate Your Environment

As you begin creating a candy display for your Bar Mitzvah, the first thing you need to do is evaluate the amount of space you have to work with. This space – along with the other kinds of fixtures (tables, chairs, entertainment areas) and foods and drinks – will help you determine how much candy you can display and the kinds of fixtures you can use to display it.

Tip #2: Consider Your Guests

The Bar Mitzvah is all about the guest of honor – traditionally, a 13-year-old male. Chances are high there are going to be numerous guests that are his same age, or close to his same age. Obviously, this means you want to choose candy items that are going to appeal to teenagers and maybe even younger children.

Keep in mind, of course, that many of the parents or guardians of these children are also going to be in attendance, which means you should choose candy items that will appeal to adults, also. For these guests, you might want to consider gourmet candies such as chocolate-covered pretzels or almonds.

NOTE: Be aware of any of your guests’ special diet needs. You might need to make sure to include sugar-free candies in your displays.

Tip #3: Browse the Variety of Available Candy

If you choose a well-established candy distributor, your candy selection will seem endless! From fun, novelty candies to gold-label gourmet chocolates, you’ll be able to browse candy products suitable for all age groups.

Tip #4: Determine the Best Candy Fixtures

Just as there are numerous kinds of candy available for your Bar Mitzvah candy display, there are numerous kinds of candy fixtures available for your candy display!

The kinds of candy fixtures you choose will depend on the conclusions you’ve reached based on the first three tips: your environment, your guests, and the candy products you choose.
  1. Candy Containers: You can find individual containers in plastic, acrylic, and glass in shapes like round, square, and fish bowl. You can also find wire mesh baskets and wooden baskets for candy displays.
  2. Display Fixtures: If you don’t have any fixtures, such as countertops, tables, or other tools with flat surfaces on which to display your containers, check into available display fixtures like traditional convenience store racks, wire display racks, and wire mesh or wooden basket display racks.
  3. Pre-Filled Candy Displays: These candy display fixtures are perfect for event organizers who either don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to creating displays from scratch or who aren’t sure how to even begin creating a candy display. You can find bucket display racks pre-filled with popular and novelty candies, gumball machines, lollipop trees, and more to help you achieve attractive candy displays without much work!
Tip #5: Make Plans for the Leftovers

You may or may not have leftover candy left, but you’ll definitely have candy display fixtures left over. Make plans ahead of time for what you’ll do with these fixtures as well as any leftover candy. Chances are, you’ll have volunteers who’d be more than happy to take the candy home, but you might need to think outside the box when it comes to the display fixtures. You can always sell the fixtures, but you might also want to consider donating them to local charities or non-profit organizations, or area businesses that can always use extra display tools.
