One millisecond can make the difference between the runner who breaks the finish line tape to win the gold medal and the poor soul who finishes in second. In battle, one millimeter can make the difference between life and death! What about ONE PERCENT more? As in, what if you make a one-percent change in your life?

Most people believe that one is not much.

A single unit.

Not zero, not two.

Just one.

In fact, the '70's band "Three Dog Night" once sang that "one is the loneliest number".

But, how can "ONE" make a difference? Sometimes it is hard, if not impossible, to visualize how it can.

Many years back, I saw for myself in 7th grade science class that one little degree can make the difference between HOT water, at 211 degrees, and BOILING water at 212 degrees. Boiling water, at only one degree more than hot water will produce energy in the form of steam. When controlled and focused, that steam can be used to drive a turbine to generate an immense amount of power. One little degree does make an enormous difference.

One millisecond can make the difference between the runner who breaks the finish line tape to win the gold medal and the poor soul who finishes in second.

In battle, one millimeter can make the difference between life and death!

What about ONE PERCENT more? As in, what if you make a one-percent change in your life? For example, a one-percent improvement in the effort you put forth toward your personal relationship goals, professional relationship objectives, health, career or other thoughts, wishes and dreams that you have written out in your plans for 2009?

At first, it really doesn't seem like much either, does it.

However, let's see what happens when you make a one-percent change in your life...EVERYDAY?

Well, now you would be on to something big... exponentially big.

Here is what I mean by exponentially big. Let's say you take action every single day in the New Year to achieve a mere 1% change in your life. When you do, it leads not to a 30% change at the end of one month, but more than a 36% change! When you reach the end of month two you will achieve - more than an 80% change in your life and world!

So, now you understand what phenomenal, positive progress you will have achieved by this time next year when you embrace my strategy of "The Ginormous Power of One"!

Norman Vincent Peale once said, "Change your thoughts and you change your world." Look at your goals, objectives and dreams for 2009 and rethink the way that you make small changes in your life. These changes will multiply exponentially, and will lead to BIG changes in every thing you do in 2009 and beyond.
