Armed Forces Day, on the 30th June, is the perfect opportunity think about the members of the British Army, Royal Navy and the RAF who have made the ultimate contribution to our country. Help for Heroes is encouraging Britain to show its support for members of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, whether that is through a donation to a worthy military charity, a street party or other charity event, or simply by thinking about those who have been directly involved in the Armed Forces – who may even be our very own loved ones.

However you choose to show it this Saturday 30th June, our support matters to our brave boys and girls. Some are currently serving overseas in countries like Afghanistan, working in tough conditions on a day-to-day basis. Some, like those which Help for Heroes works with, suffer life altering circumstances as a result of their work. And tragically, some are fallen in their line of duty.Help for Heroes works tirelessly to improve physical and mental welfare of members of the Armed Forces who have suffered as a result of their brave work. The military charity’s work provides a comprehensive road to recovery, rehabilitation programme and support and assistance thereafter.

Previous projects include a £20 million renovation of Tedworth House Personnel Recovery Centre, donations to other military charities such as Combat Stress mental health charity, and individual provisions of adaptations and support to make day-to-day life that little bit easier for service personnel and their families. Every penny is spent on work which really matters. Undoubtedly, we are in our boys’ and girls’ minds as they work to make the world a safer and better place. Help for Heroes give us the chance to show that they are in our minds too this Armed Forces Day.
