Koscheck might replace Sanchez
UFC 135 is just a couple of weeks away,Sports Headlines: UFC 135, Serena Williams And More Articles and with Diego Sanchez being forced out of the main card due to a broken hand, Matt Hughes is in need of a new opponent, and that fighter can be Josh Koscheck, who was contacted by the UFC to be the replacement of Sanchez, and if the 9-time welterweight champion accepts, it won’t be the first time that Koscheck replaces Sanchez, as he did it back in October 2008 in a fight against Thiago Alves, which the Pennsylvania native lost, but the organization and Koscheck are still waiting for the answer of Hughes, who only wants to fight big names, and to this Koscheck said that “I’m a big-name fighter, so he can take that and run with it. I put it out there. I told UFC I’d do it, and if Matt Hughes is man enough, he’ll step up and do it.”

Serena reaches quarterfinals
Thanks to an impressive victory over Ana Ivanovic, Serena Williams is a step closer to conquer the US Open title one more time as she is now on the quarterfinals, where she’ll meet Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who took down Francesca Schiavone. Serena did not celebrated her victory in big fashion, as she mentioned that she is just happy of been playing professional tennis again after an injury that left her out of competition for eleven months.

Lesnar vs Overeem in December
A fight between two monsters, Brock Lesnar and former Strickeforce fighter Alistair Overeem, is set as part of a 5-round UFC main event to take place on December 30, and it seems like Overeem is quite pleased with the opportunity as he mentioned that “Brock is a big name, a dangerous guy, and this is a dream matchup,” and even Dana White was quite excited, saying that “This is the fight the fans want. Both of these guys are monsters. Can Lesnar take Overeem down?” Well, we will just have to wait and see the match for the answer to the UFC president’s question.

Red Sox might lose Beckett for the remain of the season
It is quite compromising for a team to depend so much on a single player, and that is exactly what is happening now to the Red Sox, a team that might lose Josh Beckett for the rest of the season as the experienced pitcher got injured in a game against the Blue Jays, and even though Boston counts with a 7-game lead in the wild card race, there are still 22 games to be played, and a few losses can signify their demise.
