Ladies and gentlemen,Unicycles...Not Just For the Circus Any More Articles boys and girls, children of all ages...look to the center ring, because here come the unicycles! When we think of these one-wheeled bikes, the circus is usually the first thing that comes to mind for most of us. But, these neat little things are becoming popular with people all over the world, and you will find kids in many urban centers, and other areas, riding around on their cool toys, doing various tricks and just plain having loads of fun. Just imagine how cool it would be for you and your friends to be riding something different, and the looks that you are going to get from passersby. After all, people riding these cycles are not something that a lot of people are used to seeing every day. You may even convert others into becoming unicycle riders.

Get In Shape

Riding a bike is really great exercise, but you can work even more muscles when you are trying to ride a unicycle. This is because you need to use more muscles to keep yourself balanced, and keep the unicycles moving without toppling over. You also need to hold your arms out for balance, at least at first, so you are going to be working your arm muscles as well. Not only are you really going to improve your muscle tone when you are riding, you will also be working on improving your balance and coordination.

Learn Trick Riding

Just like with riding bicycles, you can do a lot of cool tricks and stunts when you are riding a unicycle. Just watch some of the things that circus performers do, and you will see just how varied the stunts and tricks can be. Learning trick riding will take some time. After all, you need to actually learn how to ride them before you can start doing anything fancy, but in time, you will be doing tricks that are just as much fun as anything you could do on a bicycle or even a skateboard. An added bonus to learning to do unicycle tricks is that it is going to help improve your coordination and balance even more than simply learning to ride.

The next time you are in a sporting goods store looking at bicycles, ask the sales clerk if the store carries these too, or if they must order them in. If you can't find them at local stores, you can always go online to see what is available. They come in various sizes, or you can get them with adjustable seats that you can raise and lower for your own height or preference. When you are looking for something fun to do, and you are tired of the same old, same old, then it is time for you to start riding unicycles.
