Everybody loves a good shotgun,Utilizing Shotguns in Airsoft Games Articles and they can be quite effective in a game of airsoft.  However, many shotguns that are sold can only fire one shot, and realistically, this would not be very effective.  While it is fine for target practice and playing around, you would get destroyed in an airsoft game if you used something like that.  However, there are higher quality airsoft shotguns that can do what most people associate with shotguns, which is fire shot that is comprised of multiple projectiles and is spread out.  When you get a shotgun that can do this, you have a good chance of being successful in an airsoft game.

Single shot guns still have their uses.  For games where people are only using spring guns, shotguns are perfect, because they are more powerful than pistols and generally more accurate.  You can also strap them onto your back, so you can carry it easily, just like someone holsters a pistol for convenience.  Therefore, if you are going to be participating in games of this nature on a fairly regular basis, then I suggest that you get a shotgun so you can do better.  If other people are using shotguns, that makes the game all the more exciting, since everybody is on equal footing and using some really sleek guns.  In addition, you can use these variations of shotguns for target practice, and this makes them quite useful, being they have multiple applications.

You can find the multiple shot guns mainly from Tokyo Marui, as they are known for manufacturing shotguns that can fire three shots at once.  By using this kind of shotgun, you can make it rain on your opponents, and take them down even if you are not that accurate.  It is important to remember that you are still going to be up against some pretty powerful, automatic airsoft rifles, so the multiple shot ability is not as big an advantage as one might imagine.  However, it is definitely a lot better than using something that only fires one shot at a time, so you should definitely consider using it as a sidearm to your airsoft rifle, at the least.
