It is one of the upcoming models of General Motors in India. Chevy Lumina has the history of 10 years, it was first launched in North America in 2001. The traditional car comes in sedan, coupe and minivan body type. Currently the company is selling it in several countries like Middle East, South Africa and Asia around the world. The brand has got different names in Australia and New Zealand (it is called as christened Holden Commodore). The car is going to compete with the upcoming Ford Taurus in India.
Interior- the car has got indescribable inside features,the fully loadeddashboard with odometer, tachometer, digital speedometer, average speed and distance/time to go display, fuel gauge; average fuel consumption display gives loveliness for the vehicle. The classy seat leathers gives you pleasure while traveling, the appealing security warnings like audio and video speed warning ensures safety for the travelers. It is a five-seater which creates calm atmosphere inside the side with its comforts. The inbuilt audio system inside the car consists of 6 discs in dash CD/MP3 player with AM/FM, 7 speakers Blue tooth and connectivity. Safety- The upcoming Chevy Lumina is expected to have some common safety features like- ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, dual stage frontal airbags, side impact airbags for front passenger and driver, electronic stability Program (ESP), Traction control system (TCS), front fog lamps, seat belt pretensioners ,force-limiting belts and Restraint System.
Engine- It is available in two models i.e. 3.6 liters and 6.0 liters in Australia and other market. When it comes to India the Company has not revealed anything. The 3.6 liter, DOHC, CVVT, V6 engine has a capacity to generate utmost power of 241 hp at 6500 rpm and highest torque of 335 Nm at 2400 rpm. It will come with 4 speed automatic gearbox, an upgraded model with 288 hp of power & 350 Nm of torque and automatic 6 speed gearbox. The 6.0 liters is capable to produce maximum power of 362 hp at 5700 rpm and top torque of 530 NM at 4000 rpm with 6 speed manual and automatic transmission. Both the engines are good and has capable of giving excellent fuel efficiency.
Exterior- It comes with super exterior features. It has got an ability to rob the hearts of customers. The extended body sort of the Lumina falls in sedan design and the face of the car look very lengthy. It looks like a mini boat, the snout looks shiny and houses horizontal single chrome slat front grille. The body colored headlamps, front fog lamps and lower air dam are fixed in a box type slot which gives better look for the car. It has got body color rear view mirrors and door handles, this makes good impression for the customers. The back side of the Chevrolet Lumina is very common with sporty tail lamps and rear spoiler. Lumina come in two types of wheels i.e. 17 inch and 18 inch alloy wheels to meet up the maximum beauty.
The car is expected to be launched in both petrol and diesel variants, the price tag of this car will be around 16 lakh in domestic market.
