This week,European Bike Week 2016: Complete Program Articles as every year in the past 18 years, the marvelous Faak Lake, situated in the Austrian region of Villach, will sparkle a bit more. The largest European Harley-Davidson and custom bikes Rally is back: the European Bike Week, which takes place from september the 3rd ‘till september the 11th.
European Bike Week: a bit of history
Born in 1998 to celebrate the closure of all the events organized for the Harley-Davidson 95° Anniversary, the European Bike Week has grown to the point of reaching the importance of Rallies like Sturgis and Dytona. Today the European Bike Week’s numbers are insane: 100000 bikers, 75000 bikes, the vast majority of which is composed by Harley-Davidson.

Faaker See: a location that revolves around motorcycles
Just a few km away from the Italian border, the location chosen for the European Bike week is the ideal place to reach having the road trip you have always dreamed of.
The Faak lake water sparkles even more than usual due to the bikes chrome, and the quite nature that surrounds it accentuate the engines roar… top it with great food and great music, and you’ll have an explosive mixture! The rally is set on the 25km ring that surrounds the lake, which is rideable in one way only, and is were all the parades take place during the rally days. The rally is not the only attaction, a lot of riders cannot resist to the region’s landscapes, which is plenty of montain roads perfect for lonely rides and/or guided tours.

The European Bike Week pivot point is the huge facility that Harley-Davidson puts up every year: The Harley Village! The Village is the theater of shows, new models launches, and customizations. The most interesting show is the Custom Bike Show, which has 10 categories opened for all European bikes and bikers.
The Motodrome offers technical assistance for the audience, and the food court will provide the experience of the local food taste. Not to mention that the beer will flow in volumes comparable toe the Oktoberfest only. Even the HOG will have its own space inside the Village.
Outside the Harley-Davidson Village there is another huge area, the Arneitz, which holds concerts, live shows, beach area, a theme park for childrens with castles and water slides, sport fields, and a huge space dedicated to the most important European vendors. This commercial space has nothing to envy to the one inside the H-D Village; it’s a huge exhibition in which is possible to find everything for the Harley-Davidson world: seats, accessories and Harley Davison saddlebags, apparel and even house accessories.

Schedules and main attractions of European Bike Week
Expo Area: open tuesday 6 september from 12 am and every day from 10 am to 08 pm.
Demo Area: open tuesday 6 september from 12 am and every day from 10 am to 06 pm.
Parade: saturday 10 september at 10 am. Keep in mind to put on the helmet, protecting clothes, do not overtake and to use a single lane. The ride will board the Faak lake to Finkenstein, through Villach to Ossiach until Rosegg, to finish again in Faaker See.

  • Tour 2 "Visit friends" (Slovenia-Marburg), 350 Km: thursday 8 september, starts at 09 am, ends at 04 pm.
  • Tour 3 "To West" (Carinthia-Friesach), 207 Km: friday 9 september, starts at 10 am, ends at 04 pm.
  • Tour 4 "Three countries" (Italia, Slovenia, Austria), 250 Km: friday 9 september, starts at 9:30 am, ends at 07 pm.
  • Tour 5 "The coffee of the captain" (Raum Villach-Dobratsch), 100 Km: friday 9 september, starts at 01 pm, ends at 04 pm.
