When you don't drive to work any more you spend a lot less on gas. Your carbon footprint gets a little smaller that way. There are programs available that make it possible to access your computer at home from any other computer that you want to use. You can get whatever you need from your home computer and you don't have to be close by. That is incredibly freeing for many people that travel a lot for work.

There are lots of new technological advances that help people everyday. It can get lonely when you work from home and have no office mates to joke or even interact with. It can make you feel left out if you never even talk to other people that you work with. Of course if you are sitting on the couch with your laptop, working in your pajamas then you might not be too worried about that.

Some people get their social time in by going to the office part time. It can also be done by using video conferencing that is so simple now with web cams being so cheap and available. It is a lot easier to be connected to your family when you work at home and that is something that is a really big plus when you think about it.
