There are many reasons why you should have a SQL backup program, many of which you may never even have considered. Of course everyone knows about the threat of viruses these days, but you should also consider the other potential threats that are out there lurking, putting all of your data in danger.

Someone makes a mass change that destroys a vast amount of data and there is nowhere else to go but the backup. Someone could also do something a little more intentionally that could put all of the company's data at risk.

Because of this, there is really no excuse at all for not backing up anymore. If you value your data and the security of your job, then you should remind yourself once again how important having a valid backup is at all times.
