Decide for yourself what you want to look like after surgery. Don't let fashion magazines, friends, or your doctor tell you what will look best. Take advice, by all means, but make the decision for yourself.

Talk to Those With Experience

No one can tell you more about living with implants than those women who have them. If you have friends who have had breast augmentation surgery, use their wisdom. Ask them any questions you can, as they may be able to tell you things you'll never read in any article and will never hear from any surgeon's lips. If you don't know anyone personally who has had the surgery, go online and find a relevant message board. Many of these communities are highly supportive of those getting ready to take the plunge and you'll have a limitless source of information and answers.

Bra Stuffing

If you're having trouble deciding how big you want to go, you might consider finding a surgeon who employs technology to "place" different sizes on your virtual image. This can give you a concrete method of determining what would look best. It only covers part of the story, however. You also want to see what size you're comfortable with from your own perspective. Stuffing your bra and examining yourself with various amounts can be a big help if you're not quite ready to set an appointment just yet. If you stuff to a level you find acceptable, you can take that amount in to the doctor and repeat the demonstration. It seems silly and extremely low-tech, but anything that can help you get closer to your goal is worth exploring.
